The Government of Jammu and Kashmir vide S.O No. 72 has released the Draft Notification of the Jammu and Kashmir Industrial Relations Rules, 2026. The proposed rules are aimed at strengthening industrial harmony and streamlining labour law compliance in line with the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. Key provisions include procedures for trade union recognition, grievance redressal committees, standing orders, dispute settlement mechanisms, and regulations relating to strikes, layoffs, retrenchment, and closure of establishments. The draft rules also encourage digital maintenance of records and simplified compliance processes for employers and industrial establishments operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
